Artesano Mug (Alberto Shiroma x Nakama Isao)

Product details

A stylish ARTESANO collaboration courtesy of the unexpected pairing of musician Alberto Shiroma and ceramic artist Isao Nakama. Isao Nakama set the base with his immense pottery talent and together with Alberto Shiroma, the pair collaborated on both the design and painting.

Alberto Shiroma is a popular musician and the grandson of Uchinanchu immigrants who immigrated from Okinawa to Peru. 100 years later, he took inspiration from his Okinawan roots through using Yachimun pottery in this collaboration. The guitar design is painted by Alberto Shiroma, and the ear of barley by Isao Nakama. Both with Icchin technique.

About Us

The Voyapon website has existed since 2015, when our founders envisioned the idea of bringing "off-the-beaten-path" Japan to the English, French, Spanish, and German-speaking world. Since then, our writers have created more than 3,000 articles shedding light on parts of Japan few overseas visitors have ever had a chance to visit. We would like to believe that our hard work has helped connect the lesser-traveled parts of Japan with the rest of the world.
